We passed their General Store. It was built in 1901.
Sitting right in front of the store was my new friend. Pig Man!
He wore his floppy hat and gloves, and he was ready to do some gardening. Of course he wore sunglasses to protect his little piggy eyes. He watched everyone who passed by.
He was an impressive pig, and the best part of our trip. You just never know what you'll find in small towns.
“Like a gold
ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful face on an empty head.”

Well how cute is that. Pig Man looks like he's quite comfortable sitting there.
There's always a wonderful, certain charm, in small town USA!!
That sounds like a charming old town to visit. Hope you are having a great weekend.
Looks like a nice little town. I like the Pig Man, so cute and so relaxed. Love the red flowers in front of the Pig Man. Have a great weekend!
I love small towns and old buildings and this has it all, when you add pigman guarding the propane it is fantastic... love those buildings.
Those buildings are charming. Do you think you could hire pigman to do some yard work for you? Or does he just set around all day? LOL
You would never know until you got up close.
Those buildings look like they could be on a movie set.they are quaint and pretty.
What a neat town Ginny and your new friend is so cute! We enjoyed our trip up to Big Meadows. We live an hour-and-a-half away from there, 25 miles out of Washington DC. I didn't realize you lived so close. If you ever want to meet up at the Lodge for lunch I'll let you know the next time we are heading out that way. It would be great meeting you.
That's great Ginny, I'll let you know when we go back.
Very true finding neat things in small towns. Every few weekends, my sister and I drive around to find one. More interesting than in the Hot city.
Post office and library in one building....it must be really, really small town!
The Pig Man is very cute! He must make people walking by smile big :-)
Cute!
The place looks neat and nice.. I like the cowboy style of bricks and wood on this building... smaller towns are nice to stay..everybody knows everyone.. hahaha...
What a charming little town, I love that you caught such fun pictures!
You guys sure do get around! Pig man 🙃 Lol. Cute!
Cute town. Although pig man is a bit creepy.
And Mr. Pig posed for a perfect portrait.
I am from a small town so I always love them! Neat what you can find there, no place like them. A pig man is really unique
