Rearview Monday

Are things better when looked back on? You be the judge. We were driving at sunset, away from the beauty. Good thing for the rear view mirror.

Groundhog Day 2020

Did you know that today is Groundhog Day? Not to take all the fun out of it, but...

There are lots of groundhogs around here. Many locals would sooner shot a groundhog than watch him come out of his burrow. Really. I am not one of them! I enjoy seeing them on the roadside. The local ones are still in hibernation now, and if they do come out early, will be laying low for awhile.

Did you know that during the filming of Groundhog Day, Bill Murray was bitten by the groundhog twice during shooting. He had to have rabies shots.

The Woodpeckers

This lovely little statue sits just outside the side door of a hospital. I love it!

Even the woodpecker owes its success to the fact that he used his head.

Yellow

I forget where we were going, but we drove past this house with all these yellow flowers in the front yard.

It is actually a small farm, and they sell eggs on the honor system, self serve. I wish we had stopped!

The Rains

I believe I have already posted these pictures of when the sky was half light and half dark. Do you see the profile of a face here?

But what I didn't post was what came right after. The rains in the distance. My mom could smell rain coming. Can you?

In The Hood

A few days ago, we spotted a group of Hooded Mergansers. I was so excited, because I have never seen any before! Too bad that we had to idle on the side of a busy highway to snap them, with cars racing by. This is why the pictures are not the best, plus they were a decent distance away. We had to leave way before I was ready.

This one is the female and the rest are males.

Monday Mural

Here are a few of the creatures that were painted at our annual street art festival. The scaffold is still there because the artists were still painting. I love the woodpecker pecking at the building!

Just because it is not in a museum does not mean it is not art.
