Mystery Tree

Well, here I am, none the worse for wear. In th last 24 hours I have had laser eye surgery and knee X-Rays. Not much sleep though, as the nextdoor neighbor is getting fence posts installed this week.

I have never seen this kind of tree in my life. Then this month I saw TWO! These are not leaves, they are thousands of pods! Zillions of them!

I have tried to identify it, but still don't have a clue. Do you know what it is? Here are the leaves, if that will help you identify it.

Off

I will be taking a two day break from blogging. Tomorrow I get up at the crack of dawn and we drive out of town for a doctor appointment. I expect to be gone all day. Then the next day I may just sleep all day!! Till Thursday, enjoy these beautiful Crotons.

Road Work Man

The city put this man out to warn of  road work coming up. He is made of the road work barrels, so cute!

A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it.

Atom Bomb

An atom bomb? Nah, just the sunset up on the hill this evening. But instead of the sun, the story was the cloud. It looked like a bomb went off to me. What do you think it looks like?

The white cat sat on the fence and silently peered at us from behind the leaves.

“Folks used to leave the Last Day and the end of the world in the Lord's hands, but now they've took it over themselves, with the atom bomb. That's how-come everyone's so uneasy. They don't trust each other like they used to trust the Lord.……”

For Anni - Every Witch Way

My blog friend Anni collects witches for around Halloween time. She has some very lovely and unusual ones. Today we were at Home Goods, and they had lots of witch things, so I couldn't resist snapping them. The pics are not very clear because I was trying to be sneaky! These are for you, Anni.

They had several witch cushions.

And they had a few witch trolls.

These were larger than life size!!

The Answer

On my last post, I showed an unsual animal and promised to tell you the name. Well, here it is. It is a Brown Hyena. Such a plain name for this amazing animal! A few of you got it right! They are Hootin' Anni, Ann, Jeanette, and Buttercup.

The Name Game

We were watching an animal show on T.V. the other day, about the animals in the Namib desert. This is your only clue. This was one of them, which I snapped from the T.V.screen. It fascinated me! Well, have you ever seen anything like it? Striped legs and long fur. To me, it looks like several animals all mixed together. I had no IDEA what it was, and maybe you don't either. Or do you? I'll tell you on my next post.

So God formed from the dirt of the ground all the animals of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the Man to see what he would name them. Whatever the Man called each living creature, that was its name.
