Brown Baggin' It

On my last post I showed you some hanging balls and wreaths to provide the birds with soft nesting materials. But birds that don't have this can be very inventive when it comes to nest building. A while ago, I was waiting in the car in front of a hospital, and spotted a nest way up high in a tree. I focused with my Super Zoom and got some close up shots. Upon coming home and putting them on the computer, I was amazed at what I saw! This bird has built it's nest with a lunch bag of some sort, and used the whole little bag! Now if you'll look under the bag, there is something else, and I noticed it has writing on it. I turned the picture upside down and zoomed in as close as I could get, and here is what it says "Cough Drops". Yes, this bird has also woven a cough drop bag into it's nest! I guess that, finding nothing else, the bird used trash from the hospital grounds to make it's nest. So this is one hospital that's really for the birds!
