It Is Finished

This is a place on the side of the highway that makes storage sheds and Adirondack chairs. And they have this big giant chair out front as an advertisement, along with other chairs and sheds. We went there with our granddaughter awhile back. You can see her looking up at Phil as if to say, "What are my crazy grandparents doing now, making us sit in this giant chair and pose?" But she was very happy to try out this little one just her size! The bible tells us that Jesus sits in heaven. And this is simply because he is done. In the old testament, the priests work was never done, it was a never ending cycle. Jesus took care of that by being our once and for all sacrifice, nothing else needed. And when he was done, he sat. As he said "It is finished".

"That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything in the church..."
Ephesians 1:20

Those large chairs reminds me of Edith Anne from a sitcom on TV long ago. This grown actress Lily Tomlin would sit in a huge rocker as if she was a little child with smudged face and tell funny stories. She would start out by saying, "My name is Edith Anne".

Amen, It is finished, We are waithing his coming... Come soon!

I love your granddaughters beautiful smile. She is just adoreable. I could just hug her to pieces. So like road side shops that feature "giant" size of whatever they are selling. Adirondack chairs.....again everything is making me homesick. Home is the Adirondack area of NY state. Blessings,
Lynn

That is one big chair, I'm sure the Jolly Green Giant would be very comfortable in it. Anne Marie is so cute and her bright smile is contagious.

these are great, from child size to giant sized, love the shot of them in that chair. i like the swing, we used to have one like it that my great grandfather built back in the 1920's. it was on my grandmothers porch, she died and it went to mothers porch, she died and it came to me. we had no porch so hung it in the back yard, heat humidity and rain in FL and it fell apart and had to be trashed.

These are cute pictures of Phil and Anne-Marie. I wonder if Anne-Marie felt like Goldilocks in that giant chair?

I instantly thought of Edith Ann from Laugh-in. Then I saw your little Anne What a doll! And she's growing up so fast.

I agree that Jesus sat down at the right hand of the father to signify that his work completed the plan of salvation! I was just thinking though - Stephen saw him standing at the father's right hand when he was being stoned to death. Could that mean that Jesus now would stand up when we die so as to be the first one to greet us? Just a thought.
