is like most other prophets; it delivers its prediction and then disappears.”

Today was a school snow day, and I had the pleasure of having Ella over for the day. I decided that we would have a groundhog craft day, because Saturday is Groundhog Day. We made this large family of pop-up groundhogs. They are on sticks that go up through the cups, and you can make them pop up or go back down. Then Ella drew some groundhogs and was treated to the story of Punxutawney Phil. No shadows in this house today!
“Still, if you set your heart on God and reach
out to him…Your world will be washed in sunshine, every shadow dispersed by dayspring.”

Oh Ginny, what a fun activity for the day. It looks like Ella was having fun. She is certainly good at drawing groundhogs. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Mr. Groundhog will predict an early spring.
Cute groundhogs... I like the movie with Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell (1993). We don't have groundhogs here but I saw some once in the Austrian alps (on a tourist trip back in 1990).
Oh my gosh, it IS groundhog day. I never remember it. Your cute post is a great reminder.
[and to answer your question from my post yesterday, in my opinion, no Hansel and Gretel movie isn't meant for young ones]
Ella is getting so big! What a precious little girl!! It looks like you had a great time with your creations. This looks like something Rissi would love to do. Hope your having a good weekend Ginny!
Seems to be a nice activity for the day.
Enjoy your weekend!

That would have been a lot of fun when I was with my grand daughter yesterday, Ginny!...:)JP
Ginny, you are so creative with kids' craft ideas, and your ideas encourage the creative spark in the youngsters you love.
Ella is losing her little girl look. Quite the industrious, creative young miss.
Enjoyed this post, including the timeliness, the quote and the scripture.
Well---we are getting snow again today (got some yesterday morning)... We have about 3 inches. It's so pretty--to a snow lover like me.
We may have an early spring since the groundhog here won't see his shadow today I'm sure... My sprouting spring flowers think it will be an early spring for sure.
Ella is such a pretty little girl--and is really growing up.
Hugs,
Betsy
How incredibly fun!! Loved seeing the pictures to go along with the activity! Yahoo for snow days!!

Hi Ginny,
Have you seen the movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray. I just love it. I have seen it at least 5 times.
Greetings,
Filip
Lucky Ella to be at your home on a snow day. A very clever project.
Love the verse at the end of the post too.
"shadows dispersed by dayspring"
What a fun snow day activity. Cute groundhogs too
I thought I was nuts for a minute...knew I visited here yesterday and not post...then I look at the time this posted and it was last night so I am not as nuts as I think...I bet you had a good time! Kids sure liven up a place!
What a cute family! I think these groundhogs are as accurate in predicting the weather as any live one. :)
What a fun day. Love the photos, Ginny.
I think the good news is he didn't see his shadow today - right? No more winter...
What a wonderful activity. I'm glad that the groundhog didn't see it's shadow, although things were obviously sunny and bright with Ella around.
This looks like such a fun activity!

Ginny, thanks for prayers. Hubby's surgery tomorrow is laparoscopic removal of gallbladder. He is supposed to come home same day.
So - what is the verdict? Did the groundhog duck back in the revisit in six weeks?
