Spring Flowers

Flowers don't worry about how they’re going to bloom.  They just open up and turn toward the light and that makes them beautiful.  ~Jim Carrey

We have jonquils!!! And it is to be an ice or sleet storm Friday morning and maybe more Saturday morning! The way I found out about the jonquils is that Ella and Phil went outside and she found them. She also found a feather. So she arranged them in a pine cone, which she used as a vase! My heart was so touched, and I just adore it! Do you remember picking flowers for anyone when you were a child?

“Look around you: Winter is over; the winter rains are over, gone! Spring flowers are in blossom all over. The whole world’s a choir—and singing!
Song of Solomon 2

They are beautiful, Ginny. I remember picking dandelions for my Mother and making daisy chain bracelets for her - I never had the patience to make a necklace. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary

I would not have expected such a quote from Jim Carrey. Nice one.

Oh my goodness, you have jonquils already. Mine are just now pushing up through the ground. Ella's pine cone vase is so pretty. And her smile is brighter than the flowers.

Love the Jim Carey quote. And the smiles on the sweet face, that made my day!! Nothing can beat a beautiful bright, sunny yellow Spring blossom.

And speaking of Sunny....thanks for explaining how you came about naming your Siamese Twin Cats...Sunny and Cher. That, I LOVED reading.

That pine cone sure is long. How she ever got the flower inside is a mystery!

I've never seen flowers put in a cone like that before. How very creative of Ella! I used to pick the first wood anemones for my mum I think - we lived at the edge of a wood when I was 5+

Very pretty. I think the flowers are a bit confused this year although around here they pretty much know it's not time to bloom yet :)
Cute arrangement and clever using the pine cone

The poor little flowers blooming might be in for a sad awakening - I hope spring is coming. Beautiful jonquil. We are getting daffodils and all our blooming pear trees are out in full bloom.

That a pretty jonquil...but not as pretty as the pretty little girl holding it! Love the pinecone vase! How did you do that?

The best gift ever is from a grand with a handful of flowers :)

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
