Once In A Blue Moon

The sky is the daily bread of the eyes.  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

When we were out Monday night, I looked in the distance at the fog on the blue mountains, and there was the moon overhead in a blue sky. And not only was it a full moon, it was a full Blue Moon!!!  I believe the next one is sometime in 2015. It was a day early, but that is the way it is here. Fine a day early, then clouded over the next night. And for those of you who  want an actual Blue Moon, here it is. My own photo, just colored blue.

In his days may the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace till the moon is no more.
Psalm 72

The color in the first photo reminds me of an old postcard. Know that road well.

yours is the only blue moon I have ever seen.. and i did not know there was one until you said there is.. this morning on the way to the gym it looked like a halloween moon, with wisps in front of it.

Wonderful captures, Ginny! You mentioned in a comment on my blog that you didn't know how old I am. I will be 57 in October...I was born in 1956. :)

You will have a blue moon one way or the other. I saw the moon last night and actually took my camera out. Now I need to put the pictures on the computer,so I can use them.

When I was leaving for work yesterday morning I noticed the moon in the sky and my first thought was Ginny will be doing a moon post and I wonder what this one is called :)

Hi Ginny, Worthy of a chuckle and a "Bravo". I thought of you last night and wondered if you would be taking a picture or two. Too cloudy here to see the Moon. So thanks for the view. Have a great Thursday tomorrow!

Lovely Ginny, I love how God is always surprising us with amazing glimpses of His Glory and creativity. Who else would have thought of a blue moon!?

I love seeing your moon photos no matter what color the moon is.... I had read that the Blue Moon is NOT blue--but it would be pretty sometime IF it were.... Great photos.
Hugs,
Betsy
