Wheeling And Dealing

This is the story of our day with Anne Marie yesterday. And though I did not have it planned this way, it turned into a day of wheels! The first thing she saw was my walker, and she could not wait to try it out! My job was to keep her from rolling over the cats.
Then we went to play  miniature golf. Because I still have a bandaged foot, I sat in the car and watched. We learned that some trees have eyes, and that they can look like a wolf facing west.
Then we went to Willy's for soft ice cream, where she decided to practice driving, though it was really starting the windshield wipers about six times.

Then finally for a little shopping trip, where she was overjoyed to find yet another mode of transportation, the store scooter. She really loved this and wanted to ride IN IT with me, but I told her the store would not like that. She ended up walking beside me and pushing the gas lever while I steered. Soon it quit in the middle of the store and Anne & Phil had to go to the car for my wheelchair. Down the aisle they came, Phil pushing Anne. It really was a delightful day, but I draw the line at getting her a wheelchair for Christmas!!

“Inventor: A person who makes an ingenious arrangement of wheels, levers and springs, and believes it civilization.” ~Ambrose Bierce

And then I saw four wheels beside the cherubim, one beside each cherub. The wheels radiating were sparkling like diamonds in the sun. All four wheels looked alike, each like a wheel within a wheel. When they moved, they went in any of the four directions but in a perfectly straight line. Where the cherubim went, the wheels went straight ahead. The cherubim were full of eyes in their backs, hands, and wings. The wheels likewise were full of eyes. I heard the wheels called “wheels within wheels.”

Miniature golf is so much fun. The walker is only temporary?

Ah, joy in the simplest of things!! Looks as good as a trip to Disney World to me. And, with the money you saved, you could get Anne Marie some sort of wheels. How about roller skates?

Best,
Bonnie

Amazement Square in Lynchburg has a room devoted to trying out handicapped items and they have a bunch of kid sized wheelchairs that kids can try out.

Looks like she had a very fun day!

Oh what a fun day you had! Anne Marie looks so pretty and happy riding on various wheels :-)
And what creative eyes you have, the tree does look like a wolf!
Thank you for your comment on my blog. I didn't know but catnip tea has healing benefits when you drink it. The mug, I'm sorry but I have no idea where it came from..it was a gift from long time ago. I wish I could find out!

She gets cuter every day. I love how the simplest things delight a child. You had to giggle with her riding in your wheelchair! Hope your foot is healing. That ice cream looks delicious!

I have to laugh sometimes at your skill in finding Bible quotes for every impossible theme... :D (Even if I already knew you're an angel)

You captured your precious granddaughter's enthusiasm for transportation wonderfully. I bet she is going to start lobbying for her driver's permit as early as legal!
