Dark Side Of the Moon

"I'll see you on the dark side of the moon"  Pink Floyd

A few days ago, the moon was a thin crescent. About as thin as it gets. I loved it!

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”

Isaiah 9

The Answer!

Almost all of you guessed that the field is pumpkins!! Many guessed squash, and a pumpkin is a type of squash. These are just baby pumpkins, but they will grow fast! They were lots of fun to photograph. Thanks for guessing!

“They sowed the fields, they planted vineyards, they reaped a bountiful harvest.”

Psalm 107

The Clue

So here are the clues to my field of leaves. These are the blossoms there. Think you can guess now?

“For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers, and as a garden cascades with blossoms, So the Master, God, brings righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on display before the nations.”

Isaiah 61

Another Mystery!

Aren't these leaves huge and brilliantly round? Take a look and take a guess. Do you know what they are? If not, I will give you another clue on my next post.

“God arranged for a broad-leafed tree to spring up. It grew over Jonah to cool him off and get him out of his angry sulk. Jonah was pleased and enjoyed the shade. Life was looking up.”

The Secret Of The Box

Here is the reveal! This weekend a young couple who had grown up in our church got married. They gave out these origami boxes to all the guests. BUT here is the amazing part. It was a big wedding with about 150 guests, and the bride made ALL the boxes herself! During the reception, someone took the bottom of the box apart to see how hard it really was to make. He could never get it back together. They were filled with bubble liquid so we could blow bubbles at the happy couple as they left.

“Jesus said, “When you’re celebrating a wedding, you don’t skimp on the cake and wine. You feast. Later you may need to pull in your belt, but not now. As long as the bride and groom are with you, you have a good time.”
Mark 2

The Box

One reason I love boxes is because the possibilities are endless; anything could be in a box. We got this box today, and there is something special about it. Can you guess why? I will show and tell on my next post.

“Then put in the Box the two stone tablets that I will give you, on which the commandments are written.

Hide & Seek

“He doesn’t play hide-and-seek with us. He’s not remote; he’s near.”

Hands Down

This is what I saw when we walked into our local Subway last week. The Diabetes Hands foundation is raising money. See the blood drop on the finger from testing? I believe you donate, then you can write your name on a hand and hang it on the wall. A good way to raise money for sure! Diabetes Hands never wants any diabetic to feel alone. Neither does God. Our lives are literally in His hands.

“But even if mothers forget, I’d never forget you—never. Look, I've written your names on the backs of my hands.”

Isaiah 49

Return Of The Mystery House

I have an update on the Mystery House! For my new followers, this house is a few blocks away. For many years it has had this scaffold in front of it, yet no work is ever done!. There is no grass to mow because the tiny yard is full of flowers. There is always a truck parked in front, but never any signs of life.Well, awhile ago the scaffold disappeared and they got this pretty front door. I was amazed and pleased. But shortly later, the scaffold was back up, oy!!!  The mystery continues...

“Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Psalm 23

Monkeying Around

Look who we found at the County Fair last week! This little monkey and his owner were walking around performing. I loved them so much that I'm afraid I might have stalked them! The monkey's name is Jenga and he is 23 years old, which makes him a teenager. Notice he is dressed in the same outfit as his owner, they were sharp dressed! In the fifth picture you can see Jenga biting the money he gets. He has to make sure it is real before he puts it in the cup! He has been very well trained by his owner, who has had Jenga his whole life. I got to hold him and he pointed under his chin for me to scratch it...his fur is very soft and he is so gentle!! Then Phil took a turn to meet Jenga! A fun day!

“Be blessed, God; train me in your ways of wise living.”
Psalm 119

Unlit & Lit

Remember my last post of the unusual angel and homemade tree in a yard close by? Well, they both light up!!! We passed them tonight. So her...
