The Velociraptor

Sitting on the very edge of a major highway is the fierce Velociraptor. You may recognize him from the Jurassic Park movies.

Velociraptors had feathers,but could not fly. And they were very small, about the size of a turkey.

Their most powerful weapons were the the single curved claws on their hind feet.

Artist Caesar Morton made him from wood, wisteria, cow bones, teeth, sand, walnuts, stingray egg casings, and pine cones. I did not recognize any of the materials except these pine cones.

So there you have him, in all his gory glory. Let's hope there are no wrecks.

"God doesn’t hold back on his anger;

even dragon-bred monsters cringe before him."

My first thought was wow, he's kind of ugly but then I noticed the pine cones. It's fascinating how someone can take all those things and turn it in to something like this. What talent. Those claws on the hind feet look pretty deadly

A Very Cold Post

 Today's full Cold Moon has a fitting name, as it's been so cold here. It is the last full moon of the year, and it rose while still...
