The Big Gold Cat
The Big Gold Cat is back. And as usual, he is dressed for the current holiday. Ready to party on the fourth, this guy never stops smiling.

A Different Kind Of Flag
Everyone has their flags out for the Independence Day. As we were driving, I spotted this flag in a front yard a few blocks away. Any thoughts?

with four rooms, a physical, a mental, an emotional and a spiritual.”

Blue Heron
I was so excited last week when we passed this Blue Heron in the fountain pond of a housing development.
“God created the huge
whales, all the swarm of life in the waters, And every kind and species of
flying birds. God saw that it was good.”

Two Birthdays!
This month, both Phil and Dara's birthdays are only three days apart. So we had a double celebration! Here is Dara opening a present. It was Mermaid Barbie.
Our kitty came over to check the wrapping.
Anne Marie scooped him up. She loves animals so much that she is a vegetarian.
Here are the birthday boy and girl. I got two tiny cakes because the girls like chocolate and the boys don't.
Little Jazz is always the comedian of the family.
Here we all are! Minus one who was taking the picture. And yes, our son is crossing his eyes in the header!! Boys will be boys, even when they are middle aged.
“One-hundredth birthdays will be considered normal— anything less will seem like a
cheat.”

Star Gazing
The Stargazer lilies are blooming now. I just found them today!
See the spots toward the center of this flower? They aren't just spots, they actually stick up!
“The skies were made by God’s command; he breathed the
word and the stars popped out.”

All Creatures Great & Small
Willeys is our local soft serve ice-cream stand. They know that dogs love ice-cream. So they sell a bowl of ice-cream with a dog biscuit in it. Lots of people bring their dogs along with them. Here are a few enjoying their ice-cream on a hot day. This one got served even before his masters did!
Even the little birds don't get left out. They fly down and eat the spilled sprinkles off the pavement.
“The whole congregation of
believers was united as one—one heart, one mind! They didn’t even claim
ownership of their own possessions. No one said, “That’s mine; you can’t have
it.” They shared everything.”

Carnival Time!
Last week, we took the girls to a local carnival! They loved the rides.
And they weren't EVER scared...well, maybe just a little.
They threw darts at balloons.
They won balls.
And when the carnival is closing and everyone is exhausted, there is nothing like getting into a sticky situation with cotton candy!
“Ride majestically! Ride triumphantly! Ride on the side of
truth! Ride for the
righteous meek!”

Running Woman
Running Woman is made from cable and tree branches. She is running so fast that her long hair is blowing behind her.
“…but I’ve got my eye on the
goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.”

Lipstick Lady
I saw this sweet bird in a pet store and just had to show you! Maybe a type of Lovebird? She has her makeup on and is ready for a date!
“I used to wear a lot of red
lipstick, and when I got a pimple, I'd cover it up with eyeliner to turn it
into a beauty mark.”

Sunday Beauties
We passed these flowers the other day; I think they are Peonies. I love the color!
For the beauty of the earth,
For the beauty of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our grateful hymn of praise.

The Banners
They hung summer banners in our Town Center parking lot. I thought they were so pretty that I would show you. And I thought shopping couldn't get any more fun!
“On that day, Jesse’s Root
will be raised high, posted as a rallying banner for the peoples. The nations will all
come to him. His headquarters will be glorious.”
Isaiah 11
