Fourth Of July 2017

Welcome to our Fourth Of July celebration! It rained a lot this week, so we had to wait till Friday to celebrate.

We ordered pizza, and here is just some of the other food I had.

This year was really special, because Anne Marie is now old enough to light the fireworks herself! You can see how happy she was!

After we ate, fireflies were caught, then released.

Then Anne Marie got some practice with the fuses by starting out with smoke bombs, her dad helping.

Then the lighting started! Jazz seems a tad nervous, but not for long.

Glow sticks came out.

Back in the kitchen, a few more pictures before we all dispersed and went to bed.

But what about the actual fireworks? Well, it seems I have run out of time, so you will see them on my next post!

“This will be a memorial day for you; you will celebrate it as a festival to God down through the generations, a fixed festival celebration to be observed always.”

All that food would make me forget about the fireworks. I'm so glad you get to spend so much time with these precious granddaughters of yours.

Always lovely to see you in your blog posts. Loved the family photos too. Sweet all of them. Anne Marie must have been so proud to be considered old enough to light the fireworks. When I saw the paper cups on Jazz' hand as she held the sparkler I thought what a great idea. I remember years ago loving holding those things but remember the sparks burning my hands a little. Not very safety conscious were we? Tes I am smiling here but when I looked back I wonder why it wasn't thought of as my parents were very safety conscious normally. The first time I came to the states and saw that first lightning bug I thought they were magical. Lots of flashing lights in the darkness, they kept me entertained for hours literally. Thanks for sharing these very special photos.

I don't think I've ever seen a firefly. As for fireworks, I always kept well away from them :) I might eat all those strawberries and blueberries while everyone else was busy looking at fireworks...

LOVE those snazzy star sunglasses!! Precious girls.
The red white and blue theme was grand...why even your food was patriotic.

You too have yourself all gussied up in the colors.
