Today (Saturday) is Groundhog Day!
And here are some facts you may not know.
- Punxsutawney Phil is married! He lives in Punxsutawney with his wife, Phyllis.
- During the filming of Groundhog Day, Bill Murray was bitten by the groundhog twice during shooting. He had to have rabies shots.
- Groundhog day comes from German roots. In their native Germany, they used Hedgehogs to predict weather.

I knew about his mate...but, the other two facts, I didn't.

Oh no! I didn't know that.
I never knew these facts. I was bitten once by a guinea pig.
I didn't know any of that and I had even forgotten it was groundhogs day. I had a friend growing up who's birthday is today.
I did not know any of these facts--I do know our neighbor has a groundhog that lives under his shed. And I suspect it was it tried to dig under our garage!
I knew Bill Murray got bitten during the filming of the movie, but I didn't know the other facts. I just hope Punxsutawney Phil is right about this year!

I heard Phil predicted early spring. I hope he is right :-)
I did not know. What I do know is that any rodent that shows its face in early February cannot be believed, at last not ones here in Manitoba. LOL
