The Hydrangea

We have this small Hydrangea in our front yard, under the living room window. It has a story involving the death of my mother. But I'll not tell that now. What I will say is that I think it has never bloomed in the maybe seven plus years we have had it. But this year, LOOK!

my mother loved thes plants, she had the whole back of the house covered in them, they were taller than an adults head.. and this color. so beautiful... the front of the house and sides were head high pink azaleas.

It's beautiful. I have a hydrangea under my living room window also. My dad planted it there for me shortly after we moved into this house. I think you just gave me an idea for a blog post.

Oh, my, that is beautiful. I don't think I have ever seen one quite this color...or at least the color it appears on my monitor.

I love that Hydrangea - it just took awhile to get going - but once it did - it is awesome.

I've tried several times to grow hydrangeas but they always died on me. Yours is beautiful and it's so exciting when something finally blooms, isn't it?

What was different????

We had them years ago, and the 1st year, they bloomed magnificently.

2nd year, not so much.

Ever since, nothing. Just leaves.

My husband has tried everything.

So... What was different with yours, this year? Please!!!!!!! -smile-

My mom told me these were her mom's favorite flowers, so I always think of my grandmother whom I never knew when I see them. They are just lovely.
