The Appalachian Angels

There are many, many angels here.

They can stretch for over a block. This is The Appalachian Christian School, just a few blocks from our house. We live in between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachian Mountains.

But what are so many angels doing out in the cold this month?

Each angel had the name of a student who died. So many, and so young!

One thing I find strange is this sign wishing a Merry Christmas, right beside the angels. There will likely not be any more merry Christmas's for these families.

Bless God, all you armies of angels, alert to respond to whatever he wills. Bless God, all creatures, wherever you are— everything and everyone made by God.

Psalm 103

Oh my, this is very sad but a loving tribute to those sweet souls, and hopefully a comfort to their families. I agree about the sign. Lovely photos Ginny!

Those angels are so sad! Sweet, but I agree, they don't seem to go with Merry Christmas.

How very sad that there are that many children who have died. I can not imagine the pain of losing a child.

That is very sad, but a nice tribute.

I remember this from last year. So are you sure it is students who have died - that seems suspicious to me. Sorry. But that is a lot. It would be a challenge to have a Merry Christmas after losing someone - but that is the task.

The Appalachian Angels are so special, Ginny. I think I remember them from last year. It's sad about all the students who have died. There are so many angels out there.

Thanks for letting us know where you live, it's always so beautiful there. And with so many angels, you are truly blessed. And I have bronchitis, I know you want to know, and also know that I'm feeling much, much better.

I do not remember them...and I am like Ann, I cannot imagine losing a child.

Squirrely

Today is National Squirrel Appreciation Day! Do you have many squirrels around? We do, and they are amusing to watch. Over 200 species exist...
