Happy Groundhog Day! Here are some of the groundhogs in our area.
The people of Milltown New Jersey will not have a Groundhog Day today. Their beloved groundhog, Milltown Mel, died in 2021. Here he is.
There was not another groundhog to be found among the town's 7,000 residents. 1,000 of them always attended the groundhog festival. What to do? Import one from another state! Then they could have their beloved festival.
Unfortunately, they had to give the new groundhog to the state. There is a law about importing animals between states if they are animals that can get rabies. They are trying to get an exception to the law. Meanwhile, 5 years without the festival.

I'm still laughing at that wolf. 😊
Thank you for this, I didn’t know that story at all. I also am laughing at the wolf. Phyllis is hoot too.
Ground hog day is really for a creature of habit.
ditto ONLY IN AMERICA... what a cute wolf...
Well I guess the people of Milltown will have to rely on good old Phil's prediction. I can't help thinking when I look at the picture of that guy holding Mel up in the air that he's lucky Mel didn't bite him.
Love the wolf. Phil's ex wife is right, he is a liar...lol
I love your memes today! Thanks for the laughs. I sure hope we don't have 6 more weeks of winter, but we usually do...
I vote for Phyllis to be the new groundhog that gives us the weather forecast. LOL! I love the wolf as well. It does seem as though winter is always another 6 weeks long at least. I am more than ready for spring this year.
Oh, that last quote is funny. I can't imagine the groundhog being beloved so much, they are rodents! haha The groundhog festival sounds fun though, and I'm sure the townfolk miss it. You know, I first saw that picture of the groundhog in the pink robe and curlers on a friend's blog. She was a dear friend, but she doesn't blog anymore. I've always loved that picture.
Wishing you wonderful February days, Ginny.

I love Phil's Ex-wife!! These are all cute. We do not have groundhogs around here...just an over supply of squirrel rodents. Happy Groundhog day Ginny...
