These are the oldest known pair of shoes ever found! They were
found in Oregon in the 1930’s. They date back to about 10,000 years. About 100
pairs were found, including some kid’s sizes.
They were made of shredded sagebrush bark. A toe flap covers
the top and they were held on by cords that tied around the ankle.
They are called “The Fort Rock Cave Sandals”, named after
where they were found.
