This weekend's full moon is a blue moon! Meaning that there are two full moons in the same month.
It is also a Micro Moon, meaning that it is the smallest it can be; because it is the farthest from the earth.
If it was actually blue, it would look like my filtered version.
Here is a chart I found online showing the difference in size between the largest and the smallest moon.

I didn't realize that the blue moon was the smallest. I noticed the full moon when I went to let Gibbs out this morning

I saw that it was "Blue Moon" time and when i read that I thought of you. was hoping you would post photos. since we are in Dallas (way too many lights) I knew we could not get a good view .

Our anniversary was on the blue moon... last night before bed we went out on the deck and peeked at the blue moon, then kissed under the blue moon and said goodnight. ;-)

**Ginny, the California Poppy color ranges from shades of golden yellow to an intense beautiful orange depending on the seed I believe. My favorite is the ORANGE color that I have mostly seen along the countryside, but you're right, when I saw the yellow color at the parking lot, I thought it was really pretty too.

the moon yesterday morning must have been the blue moon, it was huge and right over head at 2:30 when beau dragged me out of bed. it was stunning, and sitting in a cloud like someone painted it there. did not know about two moons one month or the difference in size
