The Tall People Meet Dara & Jazz

We took the grandkids to an acrobatic circus on Saturday. The little ones were the most fascinated with these tall people. They even ran through their legs and high fived them!

“Has anyone by fussing in front of the mirror ever gotten taller by so much as an inch?”

Horsing Around

The Horse Chestnut trees were just in bloom. They live almost forever! The oldest one in the world is in Sicily, and believed to be between 2,000 and 4,000 years old. Here is one a few blocks away from us.

“When Methuselah was 187 years old, he had Lamech. After he had Lamech, he lived another 782 years. Methuselah lived a total of 969 years. And he died.”

A Moon, A Cross, & A Bird

I just took these photos this evening. Yes, the bird is real! It is a day before the full moon, but it sure looks full to me.

“He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right. He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way.”

Trailer Park Chickens

Down in a grassy field surrounded by mountains sit two trailers. These are the luxury homes of a group of chickens. No coops for these chickens. They have all the best accommodations, even ramps to go in and out. Lets take a closer look.

“Our chickens always come home to roost. It’s impossible for God to do anything wicked, for the Mighty One to subvert justice. He’s the one who runs the earth! He cradles the whole world in his hand!”

This Evening

It was just a few hours ago that we watched this glorious sunset. Now I want you to see it, too! In the order that it happened, straight out of the camera and unretouched by me.

We often praise the evening clouds,
And tints so gay and bold,
But seldom think upon our God,
Who tinged these clouds with gold.

Mullein

The Mullien is in bloom here, and there is a lot! In Ireland, it was used as a remedy for T.B. It was mixed with nicotine and smoked to help asthma. It is said to help many, many other ailments. And the thick, soft leaves were used to line shoes for extra warmth!

Here is a Mullein rainbow!

Do you have any Mullein nearby?

“Soon a lot of people from the nearby villages walked around the lake to where he was. When he saw them coming, he was overcome with pity and healed their sick.”

The No Mow Method

This house is about two blocks from us.

Let's take a walk up their front path and see what we can see. Do you notice anything unusual?

They have NO grass! They planted bulbs all over their front yard. It is beautiful in the spring! But the rest of the year; not so much. They did not want to mow grass. Would you ever consider this?

“Spring flowers are in blossom all over. The whole world’s a choir—and singing!”

Visions In A Larkspur Yard

Our next-door neighbors have had this flag out for the summer. They also have some lovely Larkspur. Here is Mr. Squirrel on their birdfeede...
