The Fisher

Looks like we found a headless bird!

Not really. What we did find is a fisher bird. An Osprey that we saw a few days ago.

Ospreys eat fish. They fly above the water, then swoop down and grab the fish with their big claws. It is great fun to watch, especially when they catch a big fish.

"They were fishing, throwing their nets into the lake. It was their regular work. Jesus said to them, “Come with me. I’ll make a new kind of fisherman out of you. I’ll show you how to catch men and women instead of perch and bass.” They didn’t ask questions, but simply dropped their nets and followed."

Playing For Us

There are a lot of people around here who hold up signs and ask for money. On most highways you can see at least one. But this weekend was different. For the last two days, a man had set up a stand in front of Target, and was playing a horn for money. He played well, and was talented. Beside him was his wife/girlfriend. I hope he can find work.

“There are always going to be poor and needy people among you. So I command you: Always be generous, open purse and hands, give to your neighbors in trouble, your poor and hurting neighbors.”

The Hole

Inside a black hole, time stops altogether. Whether or not this theory will ever be proved, I’m moved to believe this would be the perfect place to love someone.

Life's A Beach

Every year when our granddaughters go to the beach, their parents take pictures of them. Here are my favorite pictures from this year.

ReStore

Habitat For Humanity just opened a new ReStore here. These stores accept donations, and sell home improvement items to the public at low prices. Today I noticed that they had painted a mural on their wall. It is so cute!

There is a little church.

Kids on swings.

A house with it's own graffiti wall! So kind of like a mural within a mural.

And joyful rainbow colored homes. It made my day!

My people will live in a peaceful neighborhood— in safe houses, in quiet gardens.

Chair Art

A local house always uses chairs in their front yard to decorate. Gardening with chairs is so pretty.

A few other things in their yard...

It isn’t so much what’s on the table that matters, as what’s on the chairs.

Is It October Yet?

Is Halloween coming up? Have I missed something?

Because this weekend, our grocery store  had aisles of of Halloween candy, including marshmallow ghost and pumpkin peeps. Really, here it is. I could have sworn that I saw leftover fireworks just a few aisles away...

Maybe I should start my Christmas shopping,and get in shape for Black Friday.
