Mothera

I kind of like moths. Most of these moths I have come across are delicate and pastel, quite pretty.

But the other night, THIS flew in, I called him Mothera, after the movie of the same name with the giant monster moth. This moth was as big as a sparrow, covered with fur, and it even scared the cats!!! It was like having a bird flying in the kitchen! When it lit on a tray on the fridge, Phil stood on a chair and got this photo. From that picture, I identified it as a Hawk moth. They can hover in place or fly backwards. Fortunately, he caught it and put it out. My hero!! Have you ever had any run-ins with big flying creatures?

Monday Mountains - Pink Sky With Fog

Our Blue Ridge Mountains are beautiful anytime, but when there is fog in a pink sky, it is gorgeous!  Can you find the birds?

Fashion Friday

Ellen DeGeneres  As Heidi Klum likes to say "One day you're in, and the next day you're out." Yes, fashion is a fickle and fleeting thing. So witness one of the newest trends, snapped by me from the newspaper's style section. The nun, pastor, and Rabbi look. So what do you think? As for myself, I would like to be able to tell who is really who, and not run up to some hot guy in the street wanting to confess. I want to know a nun from a nut, and a man of God from a fashion mod.  But then, that is just me. “You are Peter, a rock.
