Searching For Spring

Spring shows what God can do with a drab and dirty world.  ~Virgil A. Kraft

The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another.  The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month.  ~Henry Van Dyke

It is officially spring, yet I cannot find it here. So last week, we drove to the big city to try and find Spring. This is what it looked like at the beginning of our trip.
Continuing on, I was hopeful seeing this, but no one was home.
And then, what do you know! Quite by surprise, these loomed ahead! Colors!!!
I had found spring!! Feeling good, we drove home. Only to be faced with this yesterday and today. I took this picture from my front door. Guess I had jumped the gun on finding spring. But WAIT...
Today I saw this robin in the snow, another sign of spring? By now, I am getting just as confused as nature seems to be. I guess spring will be a really gradual thing this year.

“He spreads snow like a white fleece, he scatters frost like ashes, He broadcasts hail like birdseed— who can survive his winter? Then he gives the command and it all melts; he breathes on winter—suddenly it’s spring!”
Psalm 147

I'm glad you got to see a few glimpses of spring in town!
And I just read your previous post with Sony and Cher - that's hilarious!! They can't possibly be guilty : )
Although, I once had a dog that caused me to break 3 toes when I tripped over her. I loved her anyway!

We can't find spring either! It's cloudy and cold this week. Not heavy snow hete in GA but I did see some snow flakes yesterday. Brrr! Glad you enjoyed spring in the city even though you were greeted by snow later. That robin must be the sign of spring...let's hope it is!
Thank you for your comment on my blog. We just had first wedding anniversary. Though we are not young but middle-aged couple :-)

Hi Ginny. I know what you are talking about. i was visiting my daughter and granddaughters last week and while I was there it snowed four days, it rained twice and we even had hail twice. Then on the trip home . . . in one area I saw fruit trees in bloom . . . I sure hope they don't freeze, our northwestern state depend a lot on our fruit production.
Thank you for the lovely visit to my site. Abbey loves her doll. They only live a 3 and a half hour drive away, which is way closer than where they lived before their move :) Happy Easter!!!
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

Hi Ginny....wasn't it you that posted the pictures of all the forsythia last year at the beginning of Spring?
Love seeing the yellow colored flowers as they decorate our town.
We are having a very cool week here this week...sure hope it doesn't damage the blooms..

We are really having crazy weather this year. We rarely get snow, but our spring is colder than usual. I haven't yet put the comforters away. Your flowering trees are beautiful. I hope the snow cover does not harm them. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary

Spring is suddenly....one day it is just there. There is nothing more rewarding than the first sightings of Spring...even if on someones blog. :)

I am with you it is confusing - even in Hotlanta. We are in full bloom and had snow flakes today! I liked the colors in your area - so sad about the snow girl.

The robins were having a hard time yesterday, but today is lots better here. Lots of ground showing.

That poor Robin must be wondering what went wrong. In my world the snow is SLOWLY melting,so I have hope.

Oh Yes..... Where is Spring? We have the same situation here ---but we have no fruit trees blooming at all. Other than a few Daffodils and a few other flowers, that is ALL that is blooming here so far... Crazy!!!!!

AND--we had the snow like you had... In fact, it was still snowing here today... Finally, it has begun to clear up some tonight... Hopefully, tomorrow will be better. I'm ready for some sunshine...

Hugs,
Betsy

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
