True Blue?

These orchids are bluer than blue
NO editing did I do
Blue Mystique is their name
So take your guess and play my game
Here’s what I want to know from you
Are they dyed or painted, or really true blue?
In my next post you will find out
Just what these blues are all about.

The Pinwheel Garden

We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today. ~Stacia Tauscher

While we try to teach our children all about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about.
~Angela Schwindt

I could not let the month go by without showing you the Pinwheel Garden. I took these shots in the rain earlier this month. Did you know that pinwheels are the symbol for child abuse prevention? And April is Child Abuse Prevention month. Come to think of it, when I see a pinwheel, I think of a happy child running and playing. And this is indeed what the pinwheels are trying to convey. Evey child deserves to be safe and happy. Do you have childhood pinwheel memories?

“Jesus called them back. “Let these children alone. Don’t get between them and me. These children are the kingdom’s pride and joy. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.”

Sunday Sunset

In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary.  ~Aaron Rose

Come with me on a warm April evening to view the sunset from our pavilion on the hill. Afterward, we can drive down the street for some soft ice-cream. These were taken on Sunday a week ago.

“As high as heaven is over the earth, so strong is his love to those who fear him. And as far as sunrise is from sunset, he has separated us from our sins.”

The Blooms

I am not bound for any public place, but for ground of my own where I have planted vines and orchard trees, and in the heat of the day climbed up into the healing shadow of the woods.  ~Wendell Berry

Welcome to our third and final visit to the peach orchard! I will end the trip with the blossoms. The peaches will come from these blossoms, but not for many weeks yet. Many of you commented that the trees look like red bud, and so they do. But the peach trees are very short, and gnarled. There is no smell to the blooms, that will also probably come later with the peaches. I will be taking a computer break here on Friday, I will be gone all day. See you later!

“Look around you: Winter is over; the winter rains are over, gone! Spring flowers are in blossom all over. The whole world’s a choir—and singing! Spring warblers are filling the forest with sweet arpeggios. Lilacs are exuberantly purple and perfumed, and cherry trees fragrant with blossoms.”
