I am not bound
for any public place, but for ground of my own where I have planted vines and
orchard trees, and in the heat of the day climbed up into the healing shadow of
the woods. ~Wendell Berry
Welcome to our third and final visit to the peach orchard! I will end the trip with the blossoms. The peaches will come from these blossoms, but not for many weeks yet. Many of you commented that the trees look like red bud, and so they do. But the peach trees are very short, and gnarled. There is no smell to the blooms, that will also probably come later with the peaches. I will be taking a computer break here on Friday, I will be gone all day. See you later!
“Look around you: Winter is over;
the winter rains are over, gone! Spring flowers
are in blossom all over. The whole world’s a choir—and singing! Spring warblers
are filling the forest with sweet arpeggios. Lilacs are exuberantly purple and
perfumed, and cherry trees fragrant with blossoms.”
