Banana Peel Bushes

Instead of showing you the yellows of fall today, I am showing you the yellows of last spring that I had not posted yet. Yes, the glorious forsythias! And this spring they were lovelier than ever, huge splashes of yellow all around town. See Phil with our own forsythia? It is tiny, but he really loves it. Ella says the blooms look like the peel after a banana has been peeled, see how right on the mark she is? A banana peel bush! Forsythia means anticipation, and I anticipate them greatly each spring. What do you anticipate?

“Pay close attention now: I’m creating new heavens and a new earth. All the earlier troubles, chaos, and pain are things of the past, to be forgotten. Look ahead with joy. Anticipate what I’m creating…”

You really brightened my day with all that pretty yellow. I love your header too. Your question, that is a wood carving of an acorn.

I think Ella came up with a great name for these gorgeous bushes. The forsythias in our yard are also small, but we really look forward to seeing them each Spring.

Those 'banana peel' bushes sure light up the early spring scene.

What nice blossoms. We once had such a plant in the garden but unfortunately it died.

Greetings,

Hi Ginny, Forsythia are some of my favorite of the flowering shrubs or hedge plants. So lovely when massed. I will likely miss seeing these as they probably are not tropical enough for the Central Florida climate, but who knows? Have a fine day tomorrow!

Oh my goodness, it's like a sea of yellow. I love seeing the forsythia each spring but I usually only see small bushes like the one next to Phil. I don't think I have ever seen so many at one time before.
It does look like a banana peel.

Love that truck!

I agree with Ella, yellow banana peel. I have a burning (red) bush that would look nice against your banana peel bush. I was enjoying some of last years pictures yesterday, but only looking for Spring, lol
