Big Wheels

In the city of Harrisonburg, Va., there is a huge old fashioned Farmer's Market. They have a kitchen store, candy shop, toy store, quilt shop, old furniture, and almost anything you might want.  The last time we went, we brought Anne Marie with us for a shopping trip. She exclaimed that the place was cool! When you enter, you are greeted by this horse and cart. Anne loved it!

Then we wandered over to the candy store, where there is a giant wheel over a pool of water. The wheel goes around and around, almost like a mill wheel.

Then if you look way up high, there is an old Amish buggy on an overhang near the ceiling.

At the end of a great day shopping, we were all tired but happy. On my next post, I will show you some of the shops inside!

“As I watched the four creatures, I saw something that looked like a wheel on the ground beside each of the four-faced creatures. This is what the wheels looked like: They were identical wheels, sparkling like diamonds in the sun. It looked like they were wheels within wheels, like a gyroscope.”

The Dining Car

See the McDonald's Arch on the right? And the yellow steps on the left?

See the metal wheels?

This is the McDonald's in the little town of Elkton, Virginia. And this McDonald's has a real red caboose right up beside their restaurant. So now you can eat your burger and fries on a caboose! The teenagers especially love it. I would have climbed aboard myself, but my knees aren't what they used to be.

“God spoke to Moses, “I’ve listened to the complaints of the Israelites. Now tell them: ‘At dusk you will eat meat and at dawn you’ll eat your fill of bread; and you’ll realize that I am God, your God.’”

Playing Peekaboo

Shelter

We were driving around a large barn not long ago, and out came these cats! They had been hiding in the barn and various other places, and they all came rushing out to see what was up. And the number was endless...I dare you to count all the cats in some of these pictures.  I did not snap even half of them because my camera lens was not wide enough. They are not pets, they are barn cats. I had never seen so many in one place.

No one can escape the weather—it’s there. And no one can escape from God. Wild animals take shelter, crawling into their dens, when blizzards roar out of the north and freezing rain crusts the land…”

Gone Nuts

Here is what the green balls look like inside, like grass balls.

Inside the grassy looking balls, there are big black balls.

And it is here that we start to hammer!

And we have walnuts!! Real ones. Nature protects them with many different and hard layers.

And so we come to the end of our mystery!
“Families are like fudge — mostly sweet with a few nuts.” ~Author Unknown"

"The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory. It’s that simple.”

Still Falling

These fell off a tree; there are a lot
Some are even starting to rot!
They are just down the street from me
And I was very glad to see.
What are they? You can take a guess.
On my next post I will confess!

So Late So Soon

How did it get so late so soon?
It's night before it's afternoon.
December is here before it's June.
My goodness how the time has flewn!
How did it get so late so soon?

Dr. Seuss

I always like to quote this little poem on the first day of fall, which was today! And the time really HAS flewn this year! I will miss the light and the flowers and the warmth. What will you miss?

“Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.”

Easter For Christmas
