The Dining Car

See the McDonald's Arch on the right? And the yellow steps on the left?

See the metal wheels?

This is the McDonald's in the little town of Elkton, Virginia. And this McDonald's has a real red caboose right up beside their restaurant. So now you can eat your burger and fries on a caboose! The teenagers especially love it. I would have climbed aboard myself, but my knees aren't what they used to be.

“God spoke to Moses, “I’ve listened to the complaints of the Israelites. Now tell them: ‘At dusk you will eat meat and at dawn you’ll eat your fill of bread; and you’ll realize that I am God, your God.’”
Exodus 16

Yes Ginny, I can already hear my knees complaining if I tried to climb up there. It would be fun for those who could. Lovely photos of the old caboose.

What fun! We used to have a restaurant here that was made up of two passenger train cars. I think it was on the wrong side of the tracks and didn't do very well.

Best,
Bonnie

That is so cool! I bet kids enjoy dining in the caboose :-)
The scenery and atmosphere are very nice, too. Love that red color.

Thank you for your comment. It's almost two weeks since surgery and I'm feeling much better :-)

What fun! Too bad it is a McDonalds - not a favorite of mine. I prefer better quality food.

OH how neat.. I would definitely choose to eat in the Caboose. I'm not crazy about any of MacDonald's foods ---but would eat something there JUST to eat inside the caboose... Neat!

Hugs,
Betsy

Ginny! What a great find this is...I would love it. I would love having a caboose as sewing/quilting studio.

What a neat idea. Mac Donald's has great business, but this just puts icing on the cake for their business.

Glad you got photos for us, even though knees precluded interior enjoyment and shots. Have yet to see anything like that at any McDonalds we have passed.
