The Stones

We pass this small motel a lot, and the front lawn has always been empty. Until recently. Every time we passed, this was built a little more. WHAT was it? We theorized it is a replica of an Indian burial ground, or ancient stone circle. Lets look closer and closer.

SO, the other day we pulled in and asked the owner. Turns out it is nothing! His friends are artists and wanted to make the front look pretty. It is still a work in progress. Just an artistic expression. I was kind of disappointed, and liked it better when it was a mystery. Because then the possibilities were endless. But at least we KNOW now.

“Then David took his shepherd’s staff, selected five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in the pocket of his shepherd’s pack, and with his sling in his hand approached Goliath…David reached into his pocket for a stone, slung it, and hit the Philistine hard in the forehead…That’s how David beat the Philistine—with a sling and a stone. He hit him and killed him. No sword for David!”

How unique. It may no longer be a mystery but since it's technically "nothing" you can invent different theories each time you see it.

One sees those "stacked" stones all over Canada near the highways. I've always wondered about them.

Best,

I am glad you asked because I was already wondering by the time I went through the slide show.. I like that big butterfly and the stacks of stones...

I too would be curious and want to find out the mystery. Hope you will show photos on the finished work. Have a beautiful day!

That's interesting.Sometimes our imaginations make up better stories than what reality is.

Well, it's certainly different!

Haha, I guess sometimes mystery is meant to remain mystery :-) But it's also good to know what is going on!

I like the idea of this being a mystery better too. But maybe there really is some meaning to it and they don't want to tell you. That would make it a mystery again, wouldn't it?

Isn't that always the way when you find out what things are really for that we have imagined something magical inside our head? Well, at least you know :)

Yep, the mystery has been revealed and now no longer a work of imagination that could run wild....

It's an odd work of art, hope there'll be more to it sometime soon.

Thanks so much for the condolences of our losing Winston Ginny!! Much appreciated.

Now I want to go read more of what I missed from your postings since my blog absence.

Have a great weekend.
