We saw an Osprey the other day, such an impressive Eagle. They are also called Fish Eagles, as they sit above water and dive down to catch and eat fish.
Nearby, there was a Green Heron, such a secretive bird!
And our old friend, the Great Blue Heron.
Perhaps he thought if he couldn't see us, then we couldn't see him.
…From Humming-Bird to
Eagle, the daily existence of every bird is a remote and bewitching mystery.

Wonderful photos. I have never seen any of these in person. I bet that would be something to watch when the Osprey dives for a fish.
I had no idea there were green herons...
I would love to live where I could seen an Osprey on a regular basis. I have only seen two or three in real life.
I am surprised that you see all of these birds that are so common here there in Virginia! I did not know that they were up that far north
I have never seen those birds - I can't believe you caught photos of all those. Beautiful!
Isn't the Osprey a grand bird? I saw one not long ago at the creek, and it was in flight. Loved seeing his white belly as he flew. The Great Blue Heron is another unique bird. So glad you saw many different birds, Ginny. Your photos are wonderful. I have a woodpecker pecking holes in my house, and although they are such pretty birds, they can be quite annoying too. (I hear him pecking at night). ; )

And cool, matching use of this Background!
As of today/Sat. I 'gave up' and am using a lightened version of my Header pic, for my Background. lol
Sometimes it is so hard.
But part of our fun, is finding the most matching Backgrounds. -smile-

We saw a Green Heron on our walk Thursday. They are secretive, because we rarely see them.
Nope, changed my Background already! To a simple pattern I found. (Maybe wallpaper pattern) And make it a more warm color. -smile-
Magnificent birds! I especially like blue herons.
You have been blessed to see all these birds.
Great captures of these beautiful birds!
I think that quote is perfect re: feathered friends
