Footprints

It is just past midnight, and we still have power! Plus at least 7"of snow and some ice. Tomorrow is to be 60 M.P.H. winds, so we are not out of the woods quite yet. You all guessed that my mystery photo is footprints! After studying footprints on line, plus knowing what kind of critters we have around here, I think they may be from a sparrow. So cute!

While it is well enough to leave footprints on the sands of time, it is even more important to make sure they point in a commendable direction.

I learned long ago, that all sparrows hop when feeding, but one....the lark sparrow. They walk.

they look big in the photos, hard to see them in perspective. sorry the little guys have to walk in the snow. I guess you are snowed in by now and hope you have power, i see Ann in PA is snowed in also. we are 60 degrees with icy wind and it might not sound cold but it is to us... Beau and I just got back from our walk, our wind is howling also

Love the footprints in the snow. Great quote on footprints.

You really got a big storm! I missed the foot print question, but they look so big that I would have thought a larger bird. Nothing to compare them with.

Stay warm and hope for warmer weather. I like seeing the footprints in the snow. Sometimes I throw out a handful of see out the door at the place where they were.

I hope your power stays on. We still have snow flurries around and it is still cold, but so far so good.

I hate to think of 60mph winds...I too hope the power stays on.

These are cute sparrow footprints in the snow. Our snow has melted, but I'm sure we will get more soon. It's really cold, in the 20's. I loved your suggestion about putting different things around my duck's neck for special holidays, such as leaves. That's a great idea, and think I will do that! I thought a ring of berries would be nice around Christmastime.

Have a good week, Ginny.

I saw a few similar footprints on my deck the other day.

Those are so cool! I guessed a bird but would not have guessed a sparrow. Glad you have kept your electricity!

Brrrrr! Even though I am typing this in front of our woodburning stove, your snow pix are giving me a chill. Glad
I'm not a sparrow in your vicinity!

Awwww those are precious. Little birds in the cold and ice and snow and wind are so brave. And not a sparrow falls, but He sees. xoxo
