Snow

It snowed last night, and by this morning we had about nine inches. The first snow of the year. Looking out the door, I saw this.

Our Christmas flag is still out, we forgot to take it down.

In the afternoon the sun came out, and the sky was so blue.

Phil went out to clean the snow off the car.

I'm hoping to get to the grocery store, but who knows? I am so thankful that we still have power, so many do not now.

“He spreads snow like a white fleece, he scatters frost like ashes, He broadcasts hail like birdseed— who can survive his winter? Then he gives the command and it all melts; he breathes on winter—suddenly it’s spring!”

Psalm 147

9 inches snow is a lot. Lots of work to remove the snow from the car. Amazing to have snow and sunlight at the same time. Lovely blue sky.

It sure looks pretty but 9" is just way too much at one time. Glad you didn't lose power. I'm looking at Phil cleaning off the car and I'm wondering how he's not freezing with no hat or gloves...lol

as I read this post the tv is showing Richmond VA and the people who are trapped on the interstate for 24 hours by all your snow. I am so glady you were home and not out in this snow. its beautiful to see photos of it. hope it doesn't keep knowing more. bob doesn't wear hats in cold either. stay safe

Oh Ginny, I didn't realize you got that much snow. It looks like you got the same amount as us, and I'm very familiar trying to get the ice and snow off the windshields so I can drive to the store. You know, I use a bucket of cold water and drizzle it across the windshield first - it loosens up the snow. Isn't it something that we have to be prepared in this season just to get to the stores? Oh Ginny, I absolutely LOVE this quote, and it spoke to my heart right away. The snow around your neck of the woods is beautiful, and I loved seeing all the pictures. I liked the one of the blue sky and the snow on top of the roofs.

We fortunately didn't get as much snow as you did, but our yard looks like the ones you've pictured.

Nine inches of snow is a pretty mighty amount!! You two be careful, Ginny. Maybe the groceries should wait until tomorrow. Of course you might have more snow by then, eh? It's winter, after all. ~Andrea xoxoxo

Wow, that was a pretty good dumping you got last night.
So pretty to look at but the shoveling and clearing the car etc. not so much.
Hope you can get to the grocery store.
Its just dampish from the rain last night and chilly at 52F but the weather says it feels like 48F.

Brrrrr! Hope you stay warm and have access to all the supplies you need. Beautiful to see, but for me, not to live with. Guess that's why God gave me to my Deep South parents!

It's pretty, especially when the sun shines. We are supposed to get up to 11 inches in the next 2 days. I hope that doesn't happen...

Beautiful photos. We are in for round two of snow. Hoping it is kind to us. I don't mind it, just don't want to be housebound too long where I can't walk across my yard. heeheehee The fuzzy socks were an amazon purchase. I will get you the info. :-) Thank you.

I thought of you when I saw that there was snow in Virginia! Wow that's really pretty. I wish it would snow here just once this winter! We rarely see it. Happy New Year, Ginny! xoxo

Another beautiful quote and great snow photos. The Christmas flag is lovely and seeing Phil digging out the car shows how much snow you had. Our snow has melted off the trees, and our roads have been cleared. I expect you've heard about the second snowstorm? Hoping this won't be like the last one.

The Big Cat

Not to be outdone by that upstart The Big Cow and his friends, the Big Cat bought a new Easter bonnet! It is purrrfectly lovely! And while ...
