The Purples

Around here, most Rhododendron bushes are purple. And they were beautiful this year! Big and lush.

“Purple is the most retiring of all rich colors. It is symbolical of dignity, state, and regal power and is expressive of gravity, sorrow, and sadness.”

They're beautiful. I saw some yesterday that were huge like these. I remember having them at the house I grew up in. My dad was an excellent gardener and his were really large. I tried planting one and it died.

The flowering blossom trees DO look purple, indeed. I really like the photo of the tree with all the leaves scattering to the ground, that's so pretty, Ginny. It's so green and lush there too. Purple is my favorite color. There's just something about it that fascinates me.

Happy June!
