Meet the Belgian Malinois Shepherd, also known as the Belgian Sheepdog. This breed is being trained to sniff out bedbugs! Yes! Their handlers take them to hotel rooms, apartments, and other places.
They sniff all over the room, and don't miss a spot! It takes nine months to train a dog to do this.
Just continues to prove that dogs have some amazing talents that humans do not have.
"The average dog is nicer than the average person."

That is very cool! All hotels should have one of these dogs.
That's a very good nose to have on our sides. I love that.
Hurray for the pup and for the people training him!
I love how this post captures the wonder in everyday moments—from talented dogs to seasonal porch decor—reminding us to stay curious and appreciate the small joys all around us.
Well I knew that there were dogs who could sniff out drugs, bombs and other things but I had no idea there were dogs trained to sniff out bedbugs.
wow
Wow that’s awesome
every hotel should check for bedbugs with a dog! How genius!
It never ceases to amaze me how smart dogs are!
My brother has 2 of these Belgian Malinois Shepherd dogs and I will have to share this post with him. Maybe he can f=hire them out 😏
I had no idea they were used to sniff out bed bugs. What a job for the hotel industry. Fascinating

The other half of the saying is, and if they do, hit with a shoe. :)
Who would have thought dogs could sniff out bed bugs!!
I never knew that there were sniffing dogs that could sniff out bed bugs.. What a fabulous idea though. I always check for them at places where we stay.
I never knew there were bed bug sniffers either. I remember a few years ago hearing about the bed bugs - but I kind of thought they were gone. Guess they never do. YUCK!
I think this is fantastic! These dogs are amazing and could also be used not only for hotels, but perhaps at airports as well. Unfortunately people who travel a lot can often unknowingly bring these insects with them in their luggage and clothing.
