Remember when it used to be all the rage to dress up ceramic ducks and put them on the porch for decoration? I wonder what ever happened to that fad. And how did they find the little clothes to fit the ducks? Anyway, I have seen TWO recently!!
Soft-footed gliders on the stream,
They ripple morning’s golden gleam.
Wings tucked neat in feathered rest,
In quiet drift, the world feels blessed

Ginny, these are beautiful and delightful!
I've never seen anything ceramic dressed in clothes, much less ceramic ducks. Seems like anyone going to the effort of clothing statues has too much time on their hands.
I love that idea. They are so cute!
Those charming ceramic ducks with their tiny outfits really captured a moment in time
I do remember those years ago. There were a few places that used to sell costumes for them. I suppose there were also people who would make them themselves.
They are so fun! And I've heard they are coming back - maybe that's why you've seen a few lately.
Ginny, unfortunately, I do not recall a rage to dress ducks somehow I missed this one. That said, the ones you posted are rather creative.
I don't think I've ever seen a dressed-up duck before! (except possibly as illustration in some children's book...)
Charming and cute for the holidays.
I just don't have the umpff to do things like that.
Sue
