Phil is having his cataract surgery here on Thursday, it is way out of town. So I will not be visiting or blogging today.
Did you know that our eyes are the most
highly developed sensory organs in our bodies? It’s so complex that neurons
devoted to visual processing take up almost 30% of the cortex. That’s a huge
chunk of the brain compared to what the other senses use.
I love to shop at Thrift Stores, and I recently found a new one. It is called Uptown Cheapskate, and is a chain. I had never heard of it. Anyway, they only sell clothes. Unlike Goodwill, they will actually buy your clothes, rather than you donating them. It was kind of fancy inside as well. Did not buy anything this time.
Speaking of Thrift Stores, I spotted these two ladies coming out of Goodwill.
I think the pink hair is really pretty. I would dye my hair like this if I wasn't so old. I would just look ridiculous at my age.
At Dollar Tree, I saw something I have never seen. Leather pumpkins!! O.K., not real leather, they are pleather. As the tags said, "faux leather". But they look so rich and good! I got one in each of the three colors in both tiny and large sizes.
The tiny ones had alligator clips on them! I cannot think of a single thing I would clip them to. Maybe some of you crafty bloggers can give me suggestions?

combination of the words “plastic” and “leather,” pleather is a synthetic
fabric that is designed to look and feel like real leather. Utilizing plastic
made from either PVC or polyurethane, it is molded and textured to mimic
leather and then attached to a fabric backing for easy application to a wide
variety of products. While there are many different types of pleather designed
for specific uses and made from other materials, such as cork tree bark and
kelp, they are usually referred to as either pleather or faux leather.
During the summer, we have been having our two youngest grands over for a fun evening once a week. We try to do something different and fun each week. Last night we watched Wallace & Grommit, had dinner, and then they made this Lego type flower. Here is the bag. Temu sells these for about three dollars, many dozens of different kinds.
They love building this kind of thing, and I was shocked at how fast they finished it. It takes me much longer.
Here is the finished flower. You can open and close the petals.
Then we went for a shopping trip at The Dollar Tree. They had lots of school supplies, as school starts next week.

And the amount of fall things was unbelievable! This wall had just the hanging signs. I got some fall things that I had never seen before, too. I will show you in my next post.

Remember the house that is painted and wildly decorated for every holiday? Well, after July 4th, they added even more patriotic decorations.
Thery added this large lighted flag.
The Bald Eagle is still sitting out front on his motorcycle.
I guess shortly will be their Fall look.
Phil just had an appointment with the eye surgeon. He is having cataract surgery next week. The surgeon has moved into a big new modern building. It is so fancy that the trash cans match the front desk!
The ceilings are very high and interesting.
The front door is flanked by what looks like giant cat grass.
And now to the artwork. Kind of a metallic geometric theme.
And finally, last but not least, another DRIP painting!! All this does give us something to look at while we are waiting.

How many of you remember the song "Red Rubber Ball" by the Cyrkle? We saw them in concert along with The Beatles. Anyway, the sun tonight reminded me of that song. I believe it was this color because of the thick mist.
