Hot Stuff

These are pictures of my old pink computer and my new black Toshiba. Out with the old and in with the new! Why? One day my computer froze up, so the computer guy came and got it. Upon returning it, he told me that he put it on his end table, which has a top that is at least a half inch of solid wood. The computer got so hot that the heat came all the way through the wood. This man has almost a thousand costumers, and he has never seen a computer run this hot. This was of great interest to me because I had recently started having awful hot flashes lately, making it necessary to unzip my robe and eat a pint of mint chip ice-cream every evening in an attempt to cool down. So I was glad to hear the culprit was my computer and not my health. On the other hand, I now have no legitimate excuse to scarf down a pint of low fat ice-cream every night. If you can think of any excuse just as good, please let me know! I'm still keeping some space in the freezer.

“Anyone who sets himself up as "religious" by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world.”
James 1

Perhaps you can celebrate your new computer by having a dish of that ice cream! So glad you have a new one.

Wow I can't imagine why it would get so hot. Thank God it froze. I shudder to think what could have happened if it hadn't.
Time to celebrate the new computer by having some ice cream!
Blessings, Joanne

Perhaps your cat could sit on your lap instead of your hot computer, and cause you to need to eat ice cream to cool down :) That is, if you have a cat, of course.
Strange about how hot your computer got.

Ginny, what a great post, so funny! I love your comparison of your computer's overheating problem to your hot flashes - cracked me up! But also such a great way to relate the Scripture! You certainly have a gift for this!
Oh, and your picture of the sunrise, amazing! God's glorious creation can even make a busy highway look beautiful!

Ha~ Thanks for the laugh, I was wondering what other excuse you could come up with now for eating ice-cream.

Well, you can say that you have been on the computer so long that your vision became blurred and as you were reaching in the frig for that low fat yogurt, you grabbed the ice-cream unbeknownst to you.

GOOD to see you back!!!

Thanks for the good laugh...

Here's my theory.Ice-cream has milk init, that is very healthy and we all need a daily dose.Reason number two is that ice-cream boosts the spirits and costs a lot less than going to see a councillor. And just for good measure, you might want to have some ice-cream daily to ward off those persistent hot flashes. :)

Oh, but I loved the pink one better - hot pink ;-)

Poor baby "had" to have ice cream - what torment!

Be well...

You rock, Ginny! I'm trying really hard to help you find an excuse for the ice-cream. And you can have my share - I don't enjoy it!

I hope your new computer keeps you sharing such good stories with us.

Heck, I didn't know we needed an excuse to eat low fat and fat free anything? Just leave the robe on, and instead, you'll continue to be toasty warm...enough to need a cooling, refreshing treat. And more room in the freezer to get extra next time.

It's good to see you back blogging. You've been missed.

Oh Miss Ginny, I wish I could blame my computer for the flashed heat I throw out.

I'll send ya a good heatin' pad to lay in your lap so ya can keep on enjoyin' your cool nightly treat..."K"???

God bless ya sweetie and have a great day!!!

New laptop....woohooo!!!

Ach! Glad that didn't cause you to have a fire! Maybe it was because the pink was so HOT ;)

Your new computer will be a pleasure to use, Ginny! Unfortunately i think all computers fill up with "stuff" and begin to run hot over time.

I wish I had a solution to your ice cream dilemma...lol..maybe claiming a sore throat every now and then that needs cooling down?

Hi Ginny, How happy for you to have that wonderful new computer! Good thing! funny about that ice cream. Yes, good that it is not you! : )
Have a fabulously nice evening tonight and a great day tomorrow!

My first thought was the same, oops! no excuse for that delicious evening cool-me-off! But I have total confidence you will find a new compelling reason. We ice cream lovers are a determined lot!

Strange it becomes so hot, maybe because it is pink :-)

That is a different combination. Ice cream and hot flashes. Whatever works, go far it.

I think each day your new computer works without problems is a cause for celebration. (Ice cream is very celebratory.)

Glad you got a new computer. It sounds to me like your old one got burned out rather than froze up! ;)

Maybe with your new cool friend you could have a hot cup of something instead of ice-cream!
