Seeing Is Believing

I have really bad eyes. I have to take someone with me to pick out frames, because I can't see how I look in my choices. If I take my glasses off, I have to be sure where I put them, because I can't find them on my own. I WOULD be able to find these glasses anywhere, though! It's good to know there are some things that don't have to be seen to be believed. Here are some shots of things at the optician's offices.

"Then he focused his attention on Thomas. "Take your finger and examine my hands. Take your hand and stick it in my side. Don't be unbelieving. Believe."
Thomas said, "My Master! My God!"
Jesus said, "So, you believe because you've seen with your own eyes. Even better blessings are in store for those who believe without seeing."
John 20

You make me laugh, Ginny - I love the picture of the glasses. You also make me think - you tied that Scripture to perfectly into this post! Thanks for sharing your wonderful gift of relating everyday things that so many people miss to God's precious Word! Love it!

Oh....trust me, I have a habit of just slipping my glasses from my eyes to the top of my head, and a lot of times I'm looking all over for them around the house, and they're on top of my head all the time.

LOVE THIS SCULPTURE

Regarding the painting on my blog today, no I don't know anything on 'who the couple is'...but the artist [you can do research I'm sure], as I posted in the paragraph about it....it's called -quoting what I wrote: "The painting is titled THIS IS MY LOVE and the artist is Leslie Emery. Painted in 1950 [I was one year old]."

Those glasses made me think of our carved ear...
I know what you mean Ginny. I have very bad eyesight as well. I wear contact lenses but at night wear my glasses. I used to acually put on my glasses if I'd get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, lol. Hope you have a great weekend!! Say hello to Phil for us!

That sculpture is cool, and is that a replica of one of Norman Rockwell's paintings done in ceramic? It looks familiar. I love your blog Ginny you always have the coolest subjects!

I am loving that header shot, those glasses are way cool! and the oval in the door is beautiful. I can't see my glasses either, they are rimless and when i lay then down they disapear. i dont' take mine off except at night and i have box i put them in on the bedside table and in the bathroom a container they go in. i can't see what i look like either and hubby just says they all look fine. i am thinking of taking someone with me to snap photos of me in the ones i like and then i can put on my glasses and look at them. i bought a pair about 5 years ago and when i got them home drove right back and said i hate the way these glasses look, and they gave me another pair.

I was at the eye doctor this week as well - I went on Monday when the twins were in preschool. There's no way I could make it through an eye exam with the two of them there running all over! I'm good for another year now!

I need those big glasses. My daughter is an optometrist and I know she'd love them.

My glasses are the first thing I put on in the morning :)

Same thing here, but I have several pairs of glasses spread all over the flat so I usually manage to find one pair good enough to keep looking for the "main" ones ;) (I usually wear progressive glasses but sometimes for reading or TV I need different ones)

I really like those glasses in your first two pictures. I wouldn't have to search too long to find them.

Oh Ginny--double "ick" on that book storage!! Once our new building is complete, the books will be taken from the old shelves and put on the new shelves in the new building. That is done first. Alas, the library will be closed for 3 or 4 weeks while the move in is done. Fortunately, there is a branch library.

Best,
Bonnie

that's one big pair of glasses. I only wear glasses for distance and I can't stand to have them on my face. I only wear them when I'm driving. Recently I had to start using readers though for small close up things.

Hi Ginny ^_^
The shot of the mega glasses is so cool. Nice pictures ^_^. I use to wear glasses for 22 years every day, but did a laser eye surgery 2 years ago, what a freedom. I always dreaded go looking for new glasses.
Have a great weekend!

We just studied that lesson in our Sunday School class a few weeks about Thomas, normally referred to as "Doubting Thomas". Did you notice? Jesus didn't scold him - He just said, in essence, "Here I am, Thomas. See for yourself!" Immediately, Thomas said, "My Lord! And My God!!!"

This was great! I have to take my hubby when it is time for me to choose new frames. If I get close enough to see them, my nose is against the mirror and I can't see what they look loke on my face. If I move farther back I can see nether the frames or my face!
