Easter Food

What food do you eat at Easter time? Here are a few around here. Creme Horns.
Rainbow donuts.
Hot Cross Buns, self explanatory.
Chruscik, or Angel Wings. Sweet dough that has been twisted into ribbons, deep fried, and sprinkled with powered sugar. In some countries it is a tradition for husbands to give these to their wives on Friday the 13th in order to avoid bad luck.
Chick donuts.
Easter Basket donuts.
Bunny cake. SCARY bunny cake.
I'm just noticing that all my pictures are of sweets and junk food! Makes me think of this quote:

“All that party food won’t fill you up. You’ll end up hungrier than ever.”
Hosea 9

What did you eat for Easter dinner? I made steak sandwiches. Not traditional, but quick and good!

"Nothing would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a pleasure as well as a necessity."  ~Voltaire

Yipes---think I gained 5 pounds just reading about all of that sweet stuff.... BUT--it looked GOOD!!!! ha

Your steak sandwiches sound even better... We had turkey breast and some veggies and fruits....

Today it was pretty outside finally... Maybe we will get some Spring now.

I was thinking the same as Betsy, I think I gained a few pounds looking at all those goodies.

We grilled burgers. For desert we had Girl Scout cookies. A Brownie troop was selling at the grocery store and I'm a sucker for those little girls in brown.

Yum...lots of sweet foods there.
I had to go walk a couple of miles last evening to get rid of some of the calories that I took in the day before. We had the BEST banana pudding...strawberry pie...cola cake, cookies and much more..
All of it was so good.
Hope your day is a good one.

Hi Ginny, these sweet treats look fabulous. By request we had ham, yams with mini marshmallows, wild rice, broccoli stir fried in sesame oil, etc.
You mentioned the flower cross I posted about and yes, those are real flowers. The cross is bare wood, covered in chicken wire and as people enter the church they take a flower from huge baskets and stick one on the cross.

These look so yummy! Did you make them? I try not to have dessert here very often because of our health issues, but I do have to have a piece of chocolate (or 2) every day. My hubby has a sweet tooth and loves ice cream, so do I. That is our biggest weakness.
Steak sandwiches sound good and my kind of meal! We'll be glad when it warms up and we can grill more.

That's a lot of sugar. I am not such a dessert man but I love a good cake.

Sarah cooked us a late breakfast....and we headed home shortly after and had leftovers! Sure not what most people consider for a special meal...

I closed my eyes and did not look at the sweet stuff...I gain weight just looking at it. LOL

We actually had an Easter breakfast with Hubby as cook. Our four Georgia grands--and their parents-- love "Baboo's" breakfast fare. After a leisurely breakfast they hit the road for their return home. It was a happy Easter.

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
