“All man's
troubles come from not knowing how to sit
still in one room.” ~Blaise Pascal.
These chairs that hang by a hook are called cocoons. They are supposed to make one feel solitary and safe. But I am not a caterpillar, nor am I a butterfly. I found the colorful ones on sale at a garden center. Then I found this wicker one, which I persuaded Phil to climb into for picture taking purposes. So my question to you is would YOU? Would you sit in one? Would you even LIKE sitting in one? I have enough trouble keeping out of accidents on solid ground, plus having vertigo attacks. So this chair is certainly not for me. I can picture myself trying to climb out of it as the phone rings and rings and rings...
“I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the
Mighty One and coming on the
clouds of heaven.”
Mark 14

I thought that green one was for your cats when I first saw the picture! I never liked swings, so no, I would not want one of these. I like a chair I can lean back in, but otherwise I want it to sit still!
I'm with you Ginny! A wing-backed Windsor chair is about as cocoony as I want to be!!
Best,
Bonnie
I would sit in the one phil is in, very carefully after documenting it will hold my Weight... the other not in this life... it is cool though and i love the header shot... kids would love these, kids of all ages. my thoughts are just another thing for Americans to spend dollars on that should be put in savings.
That type of chair does not provide enough support for me. I also suspect that once in one they'd have to call the fire department to get me out :-). Have a wonderful day, Ginny. Blessings...Mary
The wicker one I would sit in but the first one I don't think I would find that very comfortable.
I don't think I'd like 'em. They look quite uncomfortable. Especially sitting in it for a long spell...backache just waiting to happen. LOL
Colorful, tho, they are.
I definitely would like to sit in one for fun but I doubt I would buy one - I would constantly feel as if I was swinging!
Like all the colors and interesting things in your header. :)
I would not sit in that cocoon chair because it doesn't look comfy to me and no more falls here. :)
I think my kids would enjoy these.
I would also sit in it, I try everything. I have the feeling Phil doesn't feel comfortable in it.
Greetings,
Filip
I think I could manage to get into one of them but would probably have to cal 911 to get help getting out, that is if I had remembered to take a phone with me.LOL
I think I would easily fall asleep if I got into one of those, they look comfy though.
Great photos, Ginny. I would like to sit on the wicker one.
I have the vertigo problems too, so I wouldn't risk sitting in it if it moves. They are kinda neat looking, but as Sandra said...just another thing to get consumers to part with their cash.
I like those, they look comfortable. But if we hung one on our patio we would never get to use it, the cats would claim it for their own.
LOL! I get vertigo too. Although I do think the green one looks fun. No doubt my boys would love it.
Ginny sometimes I like to sit in cocoons and I don't have a chair like that - and it has to be when I want too. but basically I am like you - I am more like the butterfly in personality - I don't like to be held down I like to be free. lol

I think I would sit in such chair if my feet can touch ground while sitting. If not, it's a bit scary. I love the naming, cocoon!
Hi Ginny, Hope you are fine and enjoying your break. Yes, I do like those styles of patio furnishing if one has a modern-looking home and yard. Otherwise, not so much. Have a wonderful Tuesday!
At one time I would have loved them...might even still like the wicker one.
I bet money that Lorelei would love them...how about Anne Marie?
I would like sitting in one but I would have to call 911 to get out.

I sure would like to try one. They look like they might be comfortable.
