Razor Blades & Midol

Meet Paully, the dog of my teenage years and the only dog I ever had. Here is a picture of Paully with my mom in the mid sixties. Paully's greatest and only joy in life was eating any and everything she could find. And it was to her advantage that she had a cast iron stomach. Whatever she found was immediately taken under the large dining room table to chew on and destroy.
Meet razor blades and Midol. One day we found Paully under the table chewing a package of Midol and a double edged razor blade. There was not a single cut on her tongue or mouth, though she had chewed the razor blade to pieces. As to the Midol, I  suppose she never had any cramps the rest of her life. She also ate the head off my Paul McCartney doll, leaving me with only three Beatles. So here's to you, Paully. My favorite dog with a sweet heart and a cast iron stomach.

Did you ever walk into a room and forget why you walked in?  I think that is how dogs spend their lives.  ~Sue Murphy

Good doggy. You didn't eat George!! You know, that is darn near miraculous that Paully didn't cut her mouth. Amazing.

Haha, we had a dog like that. One day he chewed up my pin cushion, loaded with pins and never had even a drop of blood! Another time he ate a small metal and ceramic pot of pansies (a treasure that my sister had given me as a gift). Also a double batch of chocolate chip cookies! He was such a scoundrel but at the same time, the BEST dog ever!

i think the razor blade and midod trumps our Baby eating my drivers license and Max who ate a 129.00 check... Pauly was beautiful, and so was your mom. i love old photos... I forgot, Max once ate 1 each of 5 pair of my shoes..

But oh so very pretty Paully was.

Paully was a beautiful dog! Lucky, too, that her mouth wasn't cut up or that she got sick from the pills!

Some dogs are just like that--eat any and everything. And others are so picky....I have had both.

That quote makes me smile. Dogs have such a special role in our lives.

Wow! She really had cast iron stomach! She was very cute and sounds like very adventurous on what she ate :-) Glad she had no injury after chewing razor blade!

Wow! What a dog! I cringed over the razor blades but enjoyed your look back at your canine friend who expands the meaning of omnivore.

Paully was so pretty! What a great photo of her and your mom. My Rambo ate a disposable razor blade from the waste basket and not one cut! I fed him about two loaves of bread afterwards!
I should buy stock in Midol, I take a lot of it every month. LOL

Pretty dog though --and I loved seeing the photo of your mother.

Sounds like a canine garbage disposal. Paully was a very sweet looking dog. Are you sure she wasn't part goat? LOL!
Sorry about Paul, George was my favorite too.
