The Little Tree That Could

This little tree is a few blocks away. It is some kind of maple tree. But here is the thing. Every summer it turns golden. Not yellow, not orange, but GOLDEN. It is dark and unremarkable the rest of the year. It has been here for maybe 25 years or more, yet it stays tiny and never grows. It is growing on the sidewalk surrounded by cement, maybe that is what is keeping it small. Though tiny, It literally glows with gold. In this case, bigger is definitely not better.

“He won’t brush aside the bruised and the hurt and he won’t disregard the small and insignificant, but he’ll steadily and firmly set things right.

That is really pretty. I'm wondering if it could possibly be some type of dwarf tree. Beautiful color

What a beautiful color. The leaves and tree shape look like a Japanese Maple. I'm thinking it is a variety of that tree.

Sorry I haven't been around much lately Ginny, I've been at the shelter a lot lately. We had a cat event this week and another one scheduled for next week.

It's beautiful. It looks like fall. I'm glad it isn't since I'm not quite ready for another winter.

What it lacks in size it makes up for in colour. It is stunning.

It may be small in size, but it is mighty and rich in color! Amazing!

The tree looks a lot bigger than it probably is.

I think it looks like a Japanese or Chinese Maple too. Mine was a burgundy color and grew very slow also. They are a naturally small tree. This one is beautiful!
