The Eyes Have It

Today we spotted a new bird for us. The Greater Scaup. Quite a find, considering their populations are rapidly declining. For me, the best thing about this bird was the eyes. They literally shone like a flashlight; brilliant yellow.

“Deeply moved, Jesus touched their eyes. They had their sight back that very instant, and joined the procession.”
Matthew 20
“The Lamb on the Throne will shepherd them, will lead them to spring waters of Life. And God will wipe every last tear from their eyes.”
Revelation 7

Aren't they brilliant? This is a male (the female is dull brown). I didn't realize they're endangered tho...there are always many here in Texas. Congrats on the sighting Ginny!
