The purple rhododendrons around here are huge! These are all in just a few blocks.
This bush had a guard.
None of the other colors have grown big! This pink one is about the size of all the other colors, small.

So pretty. My dad had several in his yard and I've always loved them. I tried planting them a coupld times but then never made it. Either the dirt in my yard is horrible or I am the worst gardener ever...lol

the quote is perfect. people who live in the frozen north or a desert come here and are estatic over the flowers everywhere, just like us flatlanders come to your state and stand in awe of the mountains... these giant flowers are amazing. we don't have them here, but we have others to take their place. I love the photo of the small one just in front of the porch....
