The Eagle

A few days ago, we spied this eagle sitting in a dead tree. We were kind of far away, but the setting sun was shining on him. I believe him to be a Red Tailed Hawk.

Headless? Nah, just making like an owl!

He had fierce yellow eyes, and claws to match.

“For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.

Isaiah 40

Cooper's hawk? The color of the wings tells me it's Cooper's.

GREAT captures Ginny.

Oh yes.... he needs that total head movement to watch for his next meal. So pretty! Sometimes there's 6 or more hawks flying overhead on our land. Lots to eat, I guess. ~Andrea xoxoxo

It is always a special time when we see an Eagle. They are GRAND birds. I saw one recently at the creek, and it wasn't too far away. It was incredible.

Have a good rest of the week.

I would agree that it could be a Cooper's Hawk. Definitely not an eagle, but good capture.
