Blackbird Singing

We happened to stop beside this blackbird who was singing his heart out. Unfortunately, he sounded like a rusty door hinge.  But it was still quite lovely to see and hear. I would not like it if everyone sounded the same.

“The song of thrush and blackbird, joy that falls so gently on the ears to celebrate another day of life and living, flying free.”

LOL, I got a laugh out of him sounding like a rusty door hinge. I've never been able to get a picture of one of these. I often see them fly by.

On its own it may sound like a rusty door hinge but when the other birds join in, it will be a lovely melody.

I love their song, too...I am of to All about Birds to see if they have more than one song.

Great shots, too.

What a wonderful photo of the blackbird on your Header. It is such a unique bird, and I love seeing them too. His red wing always seems to be hiding, but you got some good ones showing his red wing. I'm glad you heard his song one day. : )

Hi, Ginny!
I tried to find out the name of that species in Portuguese, but I can't find it, so I'll take your word about it sounding like a rusty door hinge!
But he has amazing colors!

Your title reminded me of that Beatles song "Blackbird singing in the dead of night take these broken wings and learn to fly..." I love their song although I agree the do sound like a rusty hinge!
