 Driving down the road by the river, I spotted a flash of white. What was it...a plastic bag, a handkerchief?


It was a Great White Heron! Partly hidden by bare tree limbs and on the other side of a fence. I don't think he even spotted us.

we have had a couple of these stand in the front yard, back when we had ground cover, and the quote is what he was doing. he froze in place and watched for lizards and suddenly would pounce
