You know you live in the south when you see signs like this.
But also when you see sights like this. There is no place I would rather be.
This is a
place where grandmothers hold babies on their laps under the stars and whisper
in their ears that the lights in the sky are holes in the floor of heaven.

You've convinced me with the view in that last picture.
I am smiling because where you are, I forget it is considered south. I am from WAY South, Savannah and now Florida, we can't get much more south unless we swim. ha ha we used to see sights like this and have babies on laps outside, but now all we see is traffic and tourists. I love your view, it is iconic and beautiful
Y'all is one of our everyday words. Probably say it dozens of times a day. Texas is definitely a Southern state and our slang talk is really slurred out. I find it interesting how our Country has so many diverse cultures right here in the good ol' USA. Beautiful photo of the hills and farm scene
Ginny, for some reason, I thought you were higher up, like Pennsylvania. Oh, isn't it nice to have blog friends from all over the states?
Have a restful weekend, Ginny.

Very few places compare to the Shenandoah Valley for beauty! xoxo
Very serene looking place. Ahhhhhh!
I had to look at your profile to see where you live. Yes, Virginia is definitely in the south. And that's a gorgeous view. 😊❤️
I could handle seeing that sight every day of the week....
Amazing view in that last shot, and you found interesting signs too. “This is a place where grandmothers hold babies on their laps under the stars and whisper in their ears that the lights in the sky are holes in the floor of heaven.” Absolutely love this quote. You and Phil have a great weekend Ginny :)
Lovely post, my friend. Love the quote. It makes my heart happy.
Such a lovely peaceful view..I don't blame you for loving it.
Fun "Southern" signs..make perfect sense..
