Purple Haze

How did it go with my computer today? I'll tell you on Monday. But now, let's relax with some purple. What is the first thing you think when you hear the word purple? I think of richness and royalty, which I have none of here.

And what would a purple post be without purple potties?

Windows 10

Would you believe I am still using windows 7? You could say I don't like change. Anyway, the time has come to get windows 10, as 7 is now no longer supported. The computer guy is coming over to help me download and use it, so I will be off from blogging.

Patterns

Photographer Xavi Bou took these photograph of flocks of birds in flight. He shoots between 30 and 120 frames per second.

His process shows a period of time compressed into a single image without doing a long exposure. He uses high resolution movie cameras in slow motion. Then he merges all the shots into one image. Thus creating the patterns of birds in flight.

The bird who dares to fall is the bird who learns to fly.

A Long Day

I am totally exhausted tonight. We got up around 6 A.M. and spent the day at the hospital. We did manage to get home before dark, because there was a lot of fog going over Afton Mountain! Her surgery went well, but she got air trapped around her lungs from the procedure. It is more painful than the surgical site, and hurts with each breath. We will go back tomorrow if she is still there. Till then, here are the latest banners in our town center. Early to bed for me!

I got the bill for my surgery. Now I know what those doctors were wearing masks for.

Off - Take A Bath

I will be off from blogging on this Tuesday to be with my best friend as she has surgery. We saw this 19th century bathtub at an antique mall. It had been glass topped and turned into a coffee table. Would you ever have it? It was $12,000.

In The Bleak Midwinter

I miss the flowers and birds. The colors and smells of the flowers. In the midwinter, it seems everything is all grey. I want flowers, and I want them to be pink. Enjoy the local Azaleas.

In the bleak mid-winter
Frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Snow on snow,
In the bleak mid-winter
Long ago.

Our God, Heaven cannot hold Him
Nor earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall flee away
When He comes to reign:
In the bleak mid-winter
A stable-place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty,
Jesus Christ.

The Gas & The Brake

This is our local credit union. A lovely big building on a hill.

We were next door at Goodwill when we saw lots of fire engines and police cars in front of the credit union. So we pulled over and watched. Presently several men led an old lady away. Then this is what we saw.

It wasn't too hard to figure out. She was likely parked right in front, and hit the gas instead of the brakes. Knocking the pillars out from under the building.

9 * 2 * 5

 Today was the official Dolly Parton Day. I had no idea until I woke up. It is today because today is 9/25. So it is because of her movie ...
