Behold the Buckeye butterfly. Such an unattractive name for this creature of beauty. He has many eye spots, and they're all looking at you. When his wings are closed, he is very drab and easily overlooked, and he blends right in with the dirt. You would never be able to guess his beauty. Don't discount the drab ones among us, they can have amazing beauty just waiting to unfold.
"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." 2 Cor. 4:7
"The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Sam. 16:7

This is one gorgeous butterfly! It's ok to be able to go about one's duties unnoticed, and then to unfold one's inner beauty for God's pleasure and glory! Great post - loved it!
Beautiful butterfly. Looking it up I see it's one we don't have in Europe.
This lovely creature might blend in with the dirt but it really stands out on the flowers. Great macro shots Ginny, you captured the details perfectly. You header shot is gorgeous.

Gorgeous butterfly even if it is in all the colors I don't much care for. I can appreciate the work of art that it so definitely is. And the fact that it can hide all that beauty from prying eyes? Very cool.
Hi Ginny, Exquisite shots of that Buckeye Butterfly!
These are wonderful pictures of the Buckeye Butterfly. How did you get them to pose so nicely for you?
What a gorgeous creature! I've never seen one before. Your photo is wonderful. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary
I LOVE the buckeyes... and had them for the first time this year. If you look closely you can see just a touch of royal purple on their wings... a royal butterfly indeed.
I love your header, the butterfly is beautiful. I ALWAYS tell my children to look at the inside, not just the outside! That was a beautiful post!
Have a nice day, Ginny!

The Powhiri/official welcoming ceremony can be performed for any one visiting a Maori's Marae. It is very solemn. And can be quite frightening with the chief swinging the spear around.
During our anniversary day, they re-enact the signing of our Treaty to form New Zealand. The men in suit represents the British Governor.

We have another smaller machine that comes daily to vacuum the leaves and rubbish. This one just drives along. Not the same this giant vacuum.
i think Butterflies are God's most beautiful creations...and we've managed to capture them in their glory to some extend...
Gorgeous!
that is one gorgeous butterfly. you capture it pretty good. and i really love how you put the words to describe your every encounter with even the smallest of blessings.
Fantastic photos of the Buckey Butterfly! And love your spiritual application that the Lord does not see as man sees - for the Lord sees inside. I think I'm glad about that.
