Burning Bushes

"Now Moses was tending the flock...and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, "I will go over and see this strange sight - why the bush does not burn up." Exodus 3

Perfect verse for these "burning bushes." We have a plant here called Texas Firecracker that is aglow with red blooms til first frost. The hummingbirds just love it.
I just read your previous post too and your granddaughter is adorable! I can tell she loves being with her grandparents.

These are glorious! I don't believe I have ever seen one of these bushes in person, but I have always been impressed with them...is the pink fuzzy one a burning bush too? It looks a little different than the rest...it looks incredible soft. Do they all grow where you live?

Thanks for this lovely post!

Beautiful, colorful photos Ginny. We have several Burning Bushes but they are a little behind yours in turning red. Always a pleasure to visit. May God bless.

I think it is the second one that we get here in New England. We really do call it a burning bush. I'm pretty sure it flowers in the spring, is green summer, bright red in autumn and berries (birds love them) in winter.
It is not sold anymore in most nursery's because it spreads and is not native.
To bad because I would love to have one.

Love seeing the 'fall'. It's my favorite season even we don't get it here. Memories. I'd like to live where seasons are again.

Hi Ginny, These Burning Bush plants make the yard just light up in Fall, don't they? I have three at the side of the house along a wall and they are very large. Have a super good day today! Enjoy the Fall colors!

The reds of autumn are eye catching, each of these bushes looks ablaze. I have a Dwarf Burning Bush in my yard but so far it is still green, maybe soon it will catch fire.

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
